Before the tech heads over, we’ll want to know which loading dock to use and whether there’s a security desk or building management office to check in with. If the freight elevator has to be booked, say so, and mention vendor parking or validation if there is any. Kitchens inside Tysons Corner Center, Tysons Galleria and the towers usually have rules like these.
Condensers far from the box
In a high-rise, the condensing unit for a walk-in is often nowhere near the box. It might be on the roof or tucked in a mechanical room several floors away, and the tech needs to reach both. Ask building engineering if you’re not sure where yours is. The compressor and condenser repair page covers that end of the system.
All that distance means a lot of copper line. A slow leak could be anywhere along it. Tracking one down in a tower can take longer than in a strip center kitchen where everything sits within a few feet. If the tech suspects a leak, they’ll explain on site what finding it will involve and give you a price for the repair. The leak repair page goes through the process.
McLean and Vienna are next door, and we cover them too, along with the rest of Fairfax County.
